Louisville Custom Built-Ins wants everyone to be able to learn about our work and contact us, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or other assistive technology.
Our Goal
We aim for this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. We test pages with automated tools and by hand as we build and update them, and we fix problems as we find them.
What We’ve Done
- Pages use clear headings and landmarks, and a “Skip to content” link appears at the top of every page for keyboard users.
- Menus, buttons, frequently asked questions, and forms all work with a keyboard, and focused items are clearly outlined.
- Text meets WCAG contrast levels against its background, and pages can be zoomed to 200% without losing content.
- Images that carry information have text alternatives, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Every form field has a visible label.
- The site does not use autoplaying video, sound, or flashing animation.
Known Limitations
- Embedded map. The Google map on our homepage is provided by Google and may not be fully accessible. The same information is available as a text list of the neighborhoods and towns we serve, right beside the map.
- Photo uploads. Attaching photos is optional. If uploading is difficult, describe your space in the message box, or contact us and we’ll take your project details by phone or email.
